American Airlines to Launch Temporary Las Vegas-London, Tokyo Routes

American Airlines is bringing temporary long-haul international flights to Las Vegas, Nevada for next year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025).

In early January, American plans to offer two long-haul routes from Las Vegas (LAS):

  • Las Vegas (LAS) to London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR)

  • Las Vegas (LAS) to Tokyo’s Narita International Airport (NRT)

The Las Vegas (LAS) to London (LHR) route is scheduled between January 4 and 12:

  • AA288 Depart LAS 8:30 PM Arrive LHR 2:20 PM (next day)

  • AA721 Depart LHR 1:40 PM Arrive LAS 4:15 PM

For the Las Vegas (LAS) to Tokyo (NRT) route, the LAS -> NRT direction operates between January 3 and 11 while NRT -> LAS is scheduled between January 4 and 12:

  • AA187 Depart LAS 11:35 AM Arrive NRT 4:35 PM (next day)

  • AA616 Depart NRT 6:35 PM Arrive LAS 11:25 AM

Each route will operate every day using the airline’s 273-seat Boeing 777-200ER.

American previously operated the temporary Las Vegas-Tokyo route in January 2020 for CES 2020. After five years, this route will now return for CES 2025. However, this time American is adding a another new, temporary long-haul route out of Las Vegas with service to London.

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas commonly attracts increased air service, both domestically and internationally. In past years, Delta Air Lines has also operated limited international flights from Las Vegas to destinations such as Amsterdam, Paris, and Seoul. Foreign carriers have also added temporary service to Las Vegas, including Asiana Airlines from Seoul and Air France from Paris.
