American Airlines Is Bringing the Boeing 777-300ER to Charlotte

American Airlines is set to begin flying its largest aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER, to Charlotte (CLT) this winter.

Starting November 5, American will use its Boeing 777-300ER on one daily Charlotte (CLT) to London (LHR) flight:

  • AA730 Depart CLT 6:10 PM Arrive LHR 7:00 AM (next day)

  • AA735 Depart LHR 10:05 AM Arrive CLT 2:25 PM

Overall, American will fly three daily CLT-LHR flights this winter with one flight using the 777-300ER while the other two continue with the shorter 777-200ER.

American Airlines typically uses its 777-300ER in other hubs like Dallas, Los Angeles, New York JFK, and Miami. American has sent the 777-300ER to Charlotte before for last-minute equipment changes, but this will be the first time CLT sees the aircraft on a regular basis.

American’s Boeing 777-300ER is configured with 8 Flagship First Class seats, 52 Business Class seats, and 28 Premium Economy seats. This represents a substantial increase in premium capacity over the 777-200ER, which only has 37 Business Class and 24 Premium Economy seats.

Currently, American plans to fly the 777-300ER to Charlotte until March 29, 2025. All of this is subject to change.
