Hawaiian Airlines is Canceling Austin Flights

Hawaiian Airlines is set to cancel flights to Austin next year as the airline begins adjusting its network following its combination with Alaska Airlines.

In early 2021, Hawaiian began flying to a set of three new cities as part of a network shift during COVID-19: Orlando (MCO), Austin (AUS), and Ontario (ONT).

Orlando ended in 2022 as Hawaiian needed the long-haul aircraft to restore its international network. Now it appears Austin is set to be canceled next, with the last flight departing from AUS to Honolulu (HNL) on March 26, 2025.

Hawaiian currently flies from Honolulu to Austin with 3x weekly flights using the Airbus A330-200. This is set to decrease to 2x weekly flights starting in January before ending completely at the end of March.

With the Alaska Air Group acquiring Hawaiian Airlines, the carriers are now adjusting their Hawaii networks, which includes boosting capacity to hubs. Hawaiian Airlines canceling its Austin route seems to be the next step in this shift.
