Lynx Air Adds Boston, San Francisco to Its Network

Lynx Air is expanding with two new U.S. destinations—Boston, Massachusetts (BOS) and San Francisco, California (SFO).

The Canadian ultra low-cost carrier will begin flying from Toronto (YYZ) to both destinations next year using its 189-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8s. YYZ-BOS begins March 28, 2024 with 4x weekly flights and increases to 6x weekly at the end of April.

The inaugural timings:

  • Y9 670 Depart YYZ 7:50 AM Arrive BOS 9:17 AM

  • Y9 771 Depart BOS 10:40 AM Arrive YYZ 12:30 PM

Air Canada is currently the only other carrier serving YYZ-BOS and has scheduled up to 5x daily flights next summer. Porter Airlines operates flights from Boston to Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ) also with 5x daily service.

Lynx’s new YYZ-SFO route begins May 3, 2024 with 4x weekly flights, increases to 6x weekly in June, and 7x weekly in July.

  • Y9 674 Depart YYZ 8:20 AM Arrive SFO 10:50 AM

  • Y9 775 Depart SFO 12:10 PM Arrive YYZ 7:44 PM

Lynx will face competition from Air Canada and United alongside Porter Airlines which launches its own YYZ-SFO route early next year.

After Lynx Air commenced operations at the end of 2021, the airline soon expanded to the U.S. in 2022. The airline currently offers flights to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Myers, with Boston and San Francisco joining the network in 2024.
