Air France to Launch Flights to Raleigh/Durham

Air France is adding a new U.S destination—Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina (RDU).

The SkyTeam member will launch a new route from Paris, France (CDG) to Raleigh/Durham this winter using its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

Air France’s new flights to RDU will commence starting October 30, 2023 with the following timings:

  • AF692 Depart CDG 1:30 PM Arrive RDU 5:35 PM

  • AF693 Depart RDU 7:45 PM Arrive CDG 8:25 AM (next day)

Air France plans to operate three flights a week to Raleigh/Durham on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The carrier’s transatlantic joint venture partner, Delta Air Lines, currently flies between RDU and CDG and is scheduled to decrease from 7x to 3x weekly flights from late October. Air France’s new service is confirmed to take over Delta’s RDU-CDG, but it’s unconfirmed if it’s only for the winter season.

With a metal-neutral joint venture, Air France and Delta can coordinate to the highest degree possible that is not a merger. Delta has swapped flights with its joint venture partners in the past, with an example coming from the current season where Delta took over Air France’s Minneapolis frequency for Summer 2023.

Air France’s new service also marks Raleigh/Durham’s first regular Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport has seen a significant amount of new air service within the last several years. The airport secured flights to Reykjavik (KEF) on Icelandair and added new ultra low-cost airlines such as Avelo Airlines and Breeze Airways.
