Breeze Airways Modifies Winter Schedule
Breeze Airways has just modified its winter schedule. I’ve found several notable changes:
- Westchester (HPN) to Sarasota (SRQ): Launches with 3x weekly instead of 2x weekly. Inaugural flight moves forward from November 5 to November 2.
- Westchester (HPN) to Nashville (BNA): Reduces from 3x to 2x weekly. Inaugural flight delayed from November 2 to November 4.
- Westchester (HPN) to Los Angeles (LAX): Route canceled on November 8, 15, December 6, 7, 13, 14, January 10, 17, 24, 31. The route operates daily except on the canceled dates.
- Westchester (HPN) to Charleston (CHS): Route canceled on same days as HPN-LAX.
- Charleston (CHS) to San Francisco (SFO): Suspends from November 2 through 12, December 3 through 14, January 7 through February 15.
- Hartford (BDL) to Savannah (SAV): Suspends from January 1 through February 15.
These new changes to Breeze’s winter schedule are likely an adaptation to expected demand rather than the Airbus A220 and crew shortage issues that plagued the startup airline earlier this summer.
Westchester, New York (HPN) sees the most prominent adjustments with its upcoming HPN to Sarasota (SRQ) route receiving a new Wednesday frequency—just over a month before launch—resulting in Breeze now inaugurating the route three days earlier. However, the upcoming HPN to Nashville (BNA) route loses its Wednesday frequency, which delays the inaugural by two days.
Breeze’s transcontinental portfolio out of Westchester takes another hit with slight reductions for its upcoming route to Los Angeles (LAX). This is a less significant amendment compared to the carrier canceling its planned HPN to San Francisco (SFO) route before launch. Breeze recently commenced flights from HPN to Las Vegas (LAS), but those flights will end after October 2.
As for its transcontinental Charleston (CHS) to San Francisco (SFO) flight, it will come and go over the next few months. Breeze abruptly suspended the route for September and plans to resume it in October.
