Porter Airlines to Debut Embraer E195-E2 Flights With Three New Canadian Routes
Later today, Porter Airlines will officially be announcing its first set of new routes with its brand-new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
Porter Airlines, which operates its primary hub in Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ), will begin flying out of Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (YYZ) using its long-awaited Embraer E195-E2s. Specifically, Porter will debut its new aircraft with three new routes, including its first west coast destination:
Toronto (YYZ) to Ottawa (YOW) starting February 1, 2023
Toronto (YYZ) to Montreal (YUL) starting February 1, 2023
Toronto (YYZ) to Vancouver (YVR) starting February 7, 2023
While Porter already serves Ottawa and Montreal, the airline will begin flying to Vancouver with flights from Toronto, representing its new longest route. Porter will initially operate flights between Toronto and Vancouver once a day, but later increase the route up to three flights a day.
Porter will of course continue to serve Ottawa and Montreal from Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport using its Q400 aircraft, complemented by the new Embraer E195-E2 service from Toronto Pearson International Airport.
In the coming months, enabled by the acquisition of these new Embraer E195-E2s, Porter Airlines plans to expand to other new destinations in Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
