Lufthansa Expands Boeing 787 Network to Austin, Dallas, Denver, Montreal

One day after this publication, Lufthansa confirmed the following news:

Lufthansa’s newest aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, will debut in four more cities this summer.

After commencing long-haul flights with the Boeing 787 from Frankfurt (FRA) to Newark (EWR), Lufthansa will begin deploying the aircraft to Detroit (DTW) later this month. Detroit will now continue seeing the 787 through the Summer 2023 season.

In addition, Lufthansa will start flying its new Boeing 787-9s from Frankfurt to four more North American cities:

  • Austin (AUS) starting May 2 with 3 weekly flights

  • Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) starting March 26 with 6 weekly flights

  • Denver (DEN) starting May 1 with 7 weekly flights

  • Montreal (YUL) starting March 26 with 4 weekly flights, increasing to 7 weekly from May 1

Lufthansa’s Boeing 787 flights to Newark are scheduled to end after April 30. The Boeing 747-8i will replace the 787 on this route from May 1.

As of now, Lufthansa’s Boeing 787 flights to Austin, Dallas, Denver, Montreal, and Detroit are planned through the end of October. These may extend into the winter season when Lufthansa updates their schedules.
